I
have been employed at Fanshawe College since
September 2000.
In Oct 2002 I was appointed
as steward for G Building.
In February 2003 I was elected to represent
you as your Chief Steward.
In Nov 2007 I was appointed as your Local
President.
In my role as president it is my
responsibility to run the day to day actives
of the local union office and to handle
College
wide member grievances and Arbitrations in
conjunction with the 2 Chief Stewards.
I also work with the other members of
the Local Executive to keep abreast of work
related issues that arise and to keep
on top of the actions of management and
Human Resources to ensure that they are
adhering to the collective
agreement.
I would like to thank all members that have
supported and continue to support me in
these roles. The Local President
position is very busy and daunting role but
it is also very rewarding when you
have an opportunity to make a difference.
